Privacy Policy

Dartio is a darts scorekeeper. It does not need to know who you are, and it is built so that it does not find out.
The short version
- Playing needs no account, no sign-in and no network. Your matches are stored on your device.
- Usage analytics are categorical only. They cannot contain a player name or a score, because the code that sends them has no way to carry one.
- No advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, no advertising identifier, and nothing sold or shared with data brokers.
- The only thing that leaves your device with your content in it is Dartio Cloud Sync, which is Pro and off until you switch it on.

What stays on your device
Players, matches, every dart you record, your settings and your statistics are stored locally on the device. A free match never leaves it.
What we collect, and why
1. Usage analytics
Collected through Google Firebase Analytics from the moment you open the app. Events say what kind of thing happened, never what was thrown:
- the game (X01 or Cricket), the out rule, the scoring mode, how many players
- the phase — leg, set or match — and whether an action succeeded
- a visit band: under 60, 60–99, 100–139, 140–179, or 180. Never the actual score
- which screen a Dartio Pro prompt was opened from
- the scoring engine version
This is enforced in the app's type system rather than by convention: the value an event can carry has no free-text case, so a player name, a score sequence or an identifier cannot be attached to one even by mistake.
2. Crash and diagnostic reports
Google Crashlytics, so a crash can be fixed. A report carries the device model, the OS version and a stack trace. It carries no gameplay content.
3. An anonymous identifier
Created only when something genuinely needs a durable identity — a purchase, or Cloud Sync. A fresh offline launch creates none. It is a random identifier issued by Firebase Authentication; it is not your Apple Account, your email or your name, and it is not shared with anyone else.
4. Purchases
If you buy Dartio Pro, RevenueCat and Apple record which plan you hold and when it renews, so the app knows you are entitled to it. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see or receive your card details.
5. Dartio Cloud Sync — only if you turn it on
Cloud Sync is a Dartio Pro feature and is off by default. With it on, the player names you typed and your completed matches are stored in a document that belongs to your anonymous identifier, in Google Cloud Firestore in the European Union. Matches still in progress are never uploaded.
6. Configuration and abuse prevention
Firebase Remote Config fetches configuration values, and Firebase App Check sends a token from Apple's DeviceCheck service that shows the request came from a genuine copy of Dartio. Neither carries anything about you or your game.
What we never collect
No location. No contacts, photos, calendar or files. No health or fitness data. No microphone or camera. No advertising identifier (IDFA), and Dartio never asks for tracking permission because it does not track. No data is sold, and none is shared with data brokers or advertising networks.

They act on our instructions for these purposes. Cloud Sync content is stored in the EU; analytics and crash reports are processed on Google's infrastructure, which may be outside your country, under Google's standard data protection terms.
How long it is kept
- On your device: until you delete it. Settings → Reset Match History clears completed matches; Reset All Dartio Data returns the app to a fresh install.
- Cloud Sync: until you ask us to delete it, or you delete it from the app and let it sync.
- Analytics and crash reports: under Firebase's retention settings, currently 14 months for analytics events.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to our processing it. Write to tofesoftware@gmail.com. Because Dartio has no account system, please write from the device with Cloud Sync on so we can identify the data to act on. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or the UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Dartio is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. There are no accounts, no profiles and no way for one user to contact another.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top, and a change that affects what we collect will be described in the app's release notes.
