Starting a match
Tap Start New Match, choose the game, add your players and throw. Dartio keeps one match at a time: starting a new one while another is in play asks first, and the old match is saved to history as abandoned rather than deleted.
Quick Start on Home goes straight to 301, 501 or Cricket with your last setup. Play Again repeats the last line-up.
Scoring
Quick Score
Type the total of the three darts and press ENTER. This is the fast way, and it is what most players want at the board. Dartio stores the visit total; it never invents which three darts made it up.
Dart-by-Dart (Pro)
Record every single dart. Statistics then use the real hit sequence rather than a total.
Busts
A visit that goes below zero, leaves exactly one, or finishes without the required double is a bust. The score is restored and the turn passes — you do not need to undo anything.
Finishing a leg
Type the total that takes you to zero. Dartio asks whether you finished on a double (Double Out) and which dart did it, and offers only the dart counts that could actually have produced that finish.
Checkout suggestions
When a finish is available, Dartio shows a route — T18 → D16 for 86, for
example. It is a suggestion, not an instruction, and it is only ever shown when the sum, the
last dart and the number of darts left all work out. Turn it off in Settings if you would
rather work it out yourself.
Cricket
Close 20 down to 15 and the Bull; three marks close a number. Outer Bull is one mark, Inner Bull is two, and the Bull has no treble. A number every player has closed is dead and scores for nobody — the board says so in words, not only in colour.
Fixing a mistake
- Undo reverses the last visit or the last dart.
- Edit Scores opens the whole leg. Select a visit, type what was really thrown, and the leg is replayed from there. If a later turn becomes impossible it is cleared and you re-enter it on the board.
Nothing is erased: a correction is recorded alongside the original rather than over it.
Statistics
Dartio only shows figures it can actually derive. A statistic that was never tracked reads as unavailable rather than as zero — if Advanced Checkout Tracking was off, checkout percentage stays blank for that match instead of pretending to be 0%.

Restoring a purchase
More → Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account that bought it. A restore never charges anything. Resetting Dartio's data does not remove a purchase.
Cloud Sync (Pro)
Off by default. Turned on, your saved players and completed matches sync between your devices. A match that is in progress stays on the device playing it, so two devices can never fight over a live board. If the same player was edited on two devices, Dartio keeps both and tells you rather than silently dropping one.
Apple Watch (Pro)
The Watch app scores X01 visits from your wrist while the iPhone holds the match. It is a companion, not a second scoreboard: Cricket and Dart-by-Dart are scored on the phone, and if the watch cannot reach the phone it says so and records nothing rather than guessing.
Your data
- Settings → Reset Match History clears completed matches on this device and recalculates statistics. Saved players stay.
- Settings → Reset All Dartio Data returns the app to a fresh install on this device. Purchases are not affected and can be restored.
What leaves the device, and what never does, is set out in the Privacy Policy. To have cloud data deleted, email us.
Languages
Dartio is available in English, German, Dutch, Japanese, French, Polish, Czech and Turkish, and follows your device language. There is no language picker in the app; change it in iOS Settings → Dartio → Language.
